Hurricanes and Infrastructure – Building Resiliency for Extreme Weather Events


This symposia will discuss several topics important for understanding the hurricane and infrastructure nexus. The session will cover several topics including the current state of knowledge about hurricane threats and current prediction skill, how public infrastructure-planning decisions are made and what information is required to support decision makers, best practices for educating the public and informing public policy to increase resiliency, and risk based community resilience planning.
