NCSE is committed to hosing sustainable meetings and events and to encourage our venues and partners to hold think about sustainable and green practices in everything they do. If you have suggestions on how to improve our sustainable initiatives, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
NCSE recognizes that travel to the Annual Conference is a large contributor to the overall carbon footprint of the event. In an effort to reduce emissions, NCSE has created a donation structure to help offset the carbon footprint from the meeting and our attendees travel. We ask you to consider donating. All donations will go to Natural Capital Partners and their Mississippi Valley Reforestation Project.
Mississippi Valley Reforestation
The project aims to reforest one million acres of the Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley, an area which was once covered by 22 million acres of dense forest. As a result of sustained deforestation and agricultural land use conversion over the last 50 years, less than 20% of this forest remains. Landowners who voluntarily enroll in the project commit to planting and protecting trees, reducing an estimated 200 tonnes CO2 equivalent per acre. The project creates revenue for participants, brings jobs to the area, and enhances local water quality and biodiversity. More about the project.
Every donation helps! You can donate to the Carbon Offset Program through Registration.
