This workshop explores the benefits and challenges of collaboration among academic, municipal government, and business interests in addressing resilience and sustainability. Three examples taken from Pittsburgh PA, Atlanta GA and Chicago IL illustrate specific approaches to a solution. Workshop participants will develop lessons learned and ways forward from examining the challenges and opportunities evident in the cases presented. Collaborative approaches to energy infrastructure, water and storm management through open space, and community development through climate action will be discussed. How does collaboration improve the process? What challenges must communities overcome to make innovative solutions possible?
